The Highland Group, a real estate development and commercial construction firm, is pleased to announce the successful completion of its latest endeavor: The Bay Dunes Community Center, commonly known as “The Bay Dunes Complex.” This cutting-edge facility is designed to function as both a community center and an emergency operations center during times of crisis. Conveniently situated adjacent to the Majette Disc Golf Course and in close proximity to Harders Recreation Park, the complex is easily accessible for all residents of Bay County.
Constructed with state-of-the-art technology and resources, The Bay Dunes Complex is fully operational in any situation and serves as a hardened shelter for residents during even the most severe natural disasters. Construction commenced in the fall of 2022, and The Highland Group is delighted to have completed the project on schedule and within the allocated budget. The facility’s design incorporated input from local officials and community members to ensure it addresses the community’s needs. With a total project value of $2.6 million, funding for the complex was provided through the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the Hurricane Michael recovery efforts and contracted to The Highland Group by the Bay County Commission.

The complex boasts a spacious community center with multiple rooms for events and activities, as well as a fully-equipped emergency operations center featuring the latest technology and resources to ensure seamless operation in any situation.
