The Highland Group Completes Construction on Hays Farm Clubhouse in Huntsville, Alabama

November 16, 2022 (Monroeville, AL) –– Scott Shamburger, President & CEO of The Highland Group, a real estate development and commercial construction firm, is proud to announce that his firm has completed construction on the Hays Farm Clubhouse in Huntsville Alabama. Construction of the expansive 10,000 sqft clubhouse, and additional exterior amenities to the Hays Farm complex, was announced by The Highland Group in August of 2021. The total project entailed the addition of the Clubhouse to the premier nearly 850-acre urban park as well as a new tennis court, a playground area, and a lavish resort-style zero gravity pool.

“Hays Farm is a truly sprawling development project for the South Huntsville area that’s going to bring in a considerable number of jobs to the area and will continue to be a project we want to be involved in,” said Shamburger. “Our Huntsville office has stayed consistent in their efforts to bring this phase of the development to life and I’m incredibly proud of the work they have accomplished at Hay Farm this year.”

Michael Barnes, Highland’s Vice President of North Alabama was equally thrilled to discuss the completion of the project. “Hays Farm is an incredible community development for Huntsville, and it’s been a privilege to assist the Hays Family in bringing this project to fruition,” said Barnes. “We’re excited to take part in the future plans they have for the continued growth of Hays Farm.”

Hays Farm in Huntsville, Alabama:

Hays Farm is a master-planned community located just minutes from downtown Huntsville and Redstone Arsenal. The area features over 500 single-family homes, 600 multifamily units, a premier office park, a 9.5-acre urban park surrounded by retail, a 440-acre nature preserve, 8 miles of hard-surface greenway walking trails (including the 2.5-mile Elgie’s Walk Greenway, the first segment of Greenway for the Singing River Trail), a 150,000 square foot market shopping center, luxury apartments, decadent restaurants, and protected parkland. The development will eventually consist of about 1,000 residential units, three parks, and a sea of new commercial spaces.

The plan for the overall development of Hays Farm is to provide a balance of living unrivaled in North Alabama. Hays Farm is meant to represent a new focal point for the entire South Huntsville community. Each planned neighborhood within Hays Farm will offer access to trails and an open space network that will connect the community to the entire city.  At the center of Hays Farm, “the Commons”, a large retail and open commercial space will provide a variety of shops and restaurants for guests to the park. The Commons will also have a winding road through the park leading to waterfalls, and trailheads that will connect to the surrounding neighborhoods and Grissom High School, one of the top schools in the state. The development is expected to become a cherished cornerstone for the people of Huntsville, Alabama and generations to come.
