July 15, 2022 (Elkmont, Ala.) – Elkmont Mayor Tracy Compton, Limestone County Commissioner Collin Daly, and other municipal partners celebrated the groundbreaking on the future site of the new Elkmont Town Hall. The ceremony was held on Thursday to officially launch the construction of the town’s newest community building.
The new town hall is just one of many projects planned to restore and enhance the downtown district of Elkmont, Ala. The Highland Group, a leading commercial construction firm in the Southeast, is the general contractor for the new two-story, 2,417 square foot building. Scott Wilson Architect, a boutique architect firm in Franklin, Tenn., led the project’s design.

There is currently a movement across the country to awaken downtown areas and communities and bring life to formerly vacant and distressed businesses. Future revitalization projects for the town include a new amphitheater and playground. Town officials are looking forward to attracting new businesses, increasing tourism, and offering more community opportunities for the residents to enjoy.
