December 17th, 2021 – The Highland Group is proud to announce that 2021 was a record-breaking year for the real estate development and commercial construction firm. From 2020 to 2021, the esteemed general contractor saw revenue soar 188% and hired twenty new employees expanding its team by 37%.
Throughout 2021, Highland Group developed and constructed projects throughout the south east creating thousands of jobs and investing tens of millions of dollars in local economies across the Southeastern United States.
The outstanding growth was fueled by numerous landmark projects for Highland, as well as strategic expansions in key areas of expertise including hotels, resort amenity centers and multifamily construction.
A signature achievement for the year was being named general contractor for the $40 million expansion project at Camp Creek Golf Club in Watersound, Florida. The exclusive members only club is expanding their golf facilities, adding a brand new 75 room upscale boutique inn, and developing a plethora of first-class amenities for the entire family to enjoy. The 30-acre site has been under construction for the last year and is now entering the vertical construction phase.
At the helm of Highland’s success is CEO Scott Shamburger, who was recognized as one of the top 40 under 40 Business Leaders by Mobile Bay Magazine in 2021. However, Shamburger doesn’t hold back about where the real credit for the company’s success lies, “We have a fantastic team full of leaders who are committed to getting better every day and providing our clients with great service. The Highland Group took major steps in 2018 with the expansion into the Florida Panhandle Region; and, again in 2019 with the expansion into the Tennessee Valley Region. Now with three offices located throughout the Southeastern United States, Highland is poised to continue its unprecedented growth, with projections already forecasting a 25% increase in the number of Highland employees in 2022.
